What is Lockout Tagout?

① The practice of preventing personal injury or property loss caused by accidental release of hazardous energy by installing locking devices and hanging tag identification.

② The locking device must be installed so as to help prevent inadvertent operation of the hazardous energy isolating device.

③ Everyone who may be exposed to hazardous energy must participate in lockout/tagout.

④ Locking and tagging can only prevent misuse, and has no effect on deliberate behavior.
