Talking about the Design Background of Valve Locks

Valves with locking devices on water pipes, heating pipes or gas pipes are widely used. Although the structure of the lock valve is different, most of them use a mechanical lock body and use a key to open. This method is relatively safe and reliable, but when the number of lock control valves is large and the key is kept by a dedicated person, since the keys used by each valve cannot be used universally, it is not conducive to centralized management, and it is very troublesome for storage personnel to carry and operate.

To this end, people have made various improvements. For example, Chinese patent literature discloses a magnetic lock valve [application number: 200610071229.X; authorized announcement number: CN100590333C], which includes a valve body and a valve set in the valve body, the core and the valve stem, and an unlocking tool used to open and close the valve body and can be separated from the valve body. A lock column is provided on the valve body where the valve stem extends. The valve stem passes through the lock column. The outer end extends out of the lock column, and the inner end is connected with the valve core. The valve stem is provided with a lock cover buckled on the top of the lock column. A magnetic locking device is provided between the lock cover and the lock column to restrict the relative rotation of the two. A lock hole with a non-circular cross-sectional shape is opened in the center of the top of the valve stem. The unlocking tool is provided with an unlocking body corresponding to the cross-sectional shape of the lock hole, and the unlocking tool is provided with a permanent magnet that can control the magnetic locking device. The lever and the lock cover are integrated.

The magnetic lock valve of this kind of structure uses the principle of repulsion of the same level of permanent magnets, and all lock control valves can be opened by an unlocking tool, which is highly adaptable; however, for the magnetic lock valve of this kind of structure, the rotation angle of the valve stem is limited, within the range of 90 degrees, it can only be applied to ball valves, and the scope of application is small.
